Founded in 1988, in one of the last vestiges of wilderness skiing in the United States, North Cascade Heli offers the best attributes of helicopter skiing – small, personable groups, challenging yet varied terrain, complete luxury packages, dramatic scenery, easy access and, of course, powder! And better yet, consistently dry powder that can be found long after the last storm. The North Cascades are one of the most rugged mountain ranges in the world, often referred to as the Alps of America, as well as the most glaciated mountains in the lower 48 states. Located at the eastern edge of the range North Cascade Heli's 300,00-acre permit area provides for a near-perfect balance between flying weather and snowfall resulting in world class conditions and very few 'no-fly" days. Packages include first-class lodging and gourmet meals at the renowned Freestone Inn, North Cascade Heli's base of operations. The Freestone offers a variety of guest rooms, cabins and private lodges, all within easy walking distance of the heli-barn. Additional amenities include two outdoor hot tubs and an activities center offering Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and other winter recreation opportunities. Limited capacity and flexible scheduling allows customization of packages for special requests, especially for exclusive use charters. |
