HSUS is currently working very hard at creating a curriculum for its new Mechanized Ski Guide course.

We can only encourage you to be very careful as there are a number of operations claiming to have Mechanized Ski Guide courses that Heli US has sanctioned. This is just not so! Heli Ski US is currently working very hard to create a course dedicated to the education for Mechanized ski guides.

At the HSUS spring meeting in Sun Valley, HSUS members passed with a unanimous vote by all members to certify its guides with levels 1-3 depending on experiece. These guides are trained in all aspects of the Heli ski business and will be instrumental in creating our own sanctioned Heli Ski US Mechanized Ski Guide course.

HSUS would like to encourage you to join as an HSUS Guide member now as big changes are forth coming in the industry. Once you become a HSUS guide you will be kept abreast of all the new guide agendas, standards and protocols forthcoming.

WOGA (World Outfitter and Guides Association), the industry leader in Operator insurance is supporting our mission and starting this year all Heli-Ski Operators will be formally audited and encourage to join Heli US. This is just a start as safety within the industry is our biggest challenge. Join today and become an HSUS member!

Somewhere it is supposed to be spring but in most parts of the west it is still feeling like winter.

We have just returned from our annual HSUS meeting in Sun Valley with all sorts of positive measures forth coming. Stay tuned in here as we release details.

HSUS can only encourage you to make certain when booking your next heli skiing vacation, you book with an operator that is a member of the Association. This will ensure you that your operator has met the minimum standards set forth by operators that have been in the business for over 40 years. It also ensures you that your guides have met the minimum qualifications and that the operator is providing a safe working environment for them.

Please also make certain to mark our US Heli Ski Association Facebook page listed below. HSUS Operators will be updating this page daily.
