Nestled in a valley in the Chugach Mountains the surrounding area offers access to the some of the best heli skiing in the world. Short helicopter flights place skiers on top of big Alaskan faces with views of Turnagain Arm in one direction and Prince William Sound in the other. On days the helicopter can’t fly, inbounds and cat skiing keep visitors on powder. Choose between some of the finest inbound skiing north of Jackson Hole just a tram ride away at Alyeska Resort or a private cat skiing area that Chugach Powder Guide’s access just up valley from the Hotel Alyeska. These options provide excellent terrain for all ability levels. Après ski in one of the hotel restaurants or the top of the tram. Top the day off with world famous steaks at the Double Musky. If you are looking for the ultimate family or group heli-ski adventure, this is the place to go.

Tordrillo Mountain Lodge:
The Tordrillo Mountains in the Alaska Range continue to push the imaginations of even the most accomplished skiers. Though these mountains are located just 75 miles west of Anchorage they remain one of the most remote and untouched ranges in all of Alaska. Hundreds of glaciers, granite spires, and the largest mountains in North America set a surreal backdrop. These are ski lines that only nature could design with endless steep and incised couloirs set in golden granite that catches the light. Chugach Powder Guides (CPG) base operation, the exclusive Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, is tucked between Mt. McKinley towering at 20,320 feet and two smoldering volcanic peaks: Mt. Gerdine (11,258) and Mt. Torbert (11,413 feet). The surrounding terrain lays out massive glaciers and towering peaks that go on and on and on. This place is humbling but also remarkable and awe-inspiring. It is rapidly becoming known as one of the most spectacular and sought-after heli-ski locations in the world. We recommend this terrain for Advanced-Intermediate to Expert skiers.

The North Gulf Coast:
Chugach Powder Guides’ newest helicopter skiing discovery is the terrain 20 miles east of Seward, Alaska, a fishing town on the North Gulf Coast. This areas’ close proximity to the Gulf of Alaska and the strong storms generated there produce the giant snowfalls that Alaska and the great coast ranges of the world are known for. Making this venue even more remarkable is the bird’s-eye view of the islands and fjords that dot Resurrection Bay. Gorgeous glacial valleys with vertical, steep skiing terrain offer some of the best runs in the state. Previously unskied spires, chutes, and steep faces pop up around every corner. The combination of sea, sky and peaks in the Chugach Range make this location one of the most beautiful and unforgettable in the world.
